The essential professional association
Process and chemical engineers are needed in almost every industry: naturally in the chemical, pharmaceutical and plastics industry, but also in the food and cement industry, apparatus engineering, medical technology, environmental protection, biotechnology, energy and building services engineering. With their wide-ranging, broad education and training, they are for example essential for transferring new laboratory procedures into industrial production.
A variety of activities provide benefits for members – this is the aim of Swiss Process and Chemical Engineers SGVC:
- It’s a link between apprenticeships, research and application and facilitates productive exchanges of ideas. It also regards itself as an intermediary between science and society.
- It offers its members various, high quality opportunities for further training and education as well as holding specialist events.
- It encourages the next generation of engineers – for example with the annual innovation prize – and makes it easier for young engineers to enter into professional life.
- It offers all professionals an interesting platform for networking.
Founded in 1965, the association now has over 320 individual and 70 group/company members. It represents the interests of its members and their discipline in the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (Schweizerische Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaften, SATW) and has national and international links.
